.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 105 PM CST Wed Nov 6 2024
A cold front's slow passage will ultimately end pops, but they
will linger, especially in our east, til its passage can
complete and some drier air works in, roughly about 24 hours
from now. Until then, up to another 1/2 inch or so qpf is
possible across southern Kentucky.
Cooler/drier northeasterlies will draw dew points down thru the
50s, into the 40s, tmrw-tmrw night, and highs the next two-three
days will stay (largely) in the 60s.
Dew points bounce back up into the 60s as we warm back up into
the 70s over the weekend. This occurs as we warm sector again,
in advance of another system rolling out of the Plains and
lifting into the Midwest. Its front is modeled to make passage
by the end of the weekend, with showers/storms chances really
picking up again Saturday night-Sunday. Another 1-2" of rainfall
is anticipated.
We'll have to keep an eye upon the tropical system in the Gulf
and how it interplays with the aforementioned system and our
rain chances, but as the models play it now, we'll get drier
early next week before perhaps another mid-late week wet period
pops up again. The latest 6-10 and 8-14 day medium range
outlooks suggest above normal temps/pcpn.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z THURSDAY/...
Issued at 105 PM CST Wed Nov 6 2024
A cold front will be slow to make complete passage, thus
lingering CIGS, especially in the east, and potentially rain
chances. Drier air incoming behind the front will take over
tmrw, west to east, as high pressure's influence builds across
the flight terminals.
