NEAR TERM...
(Now through Friday)
Issued at 436 AM CDT Thu Oct 10 2024

Tranquil and dry then rinse and repeat. The upper shortwave
trough that guided Hurricane Milton into Florida will move across
the area today allowing for high pressure to build in its place.
Re-enforcing dry air will push into the area. Highs will once
again be in the mid to upper 80s today cooling to the upper 70s to
low 80s on Friday. Lows will drop into the upper 50s to low 60s
tonight. Friday night will actually be the coldest night since
April as lows will drop into the upper 40s inland to mid to upper
50s along the coast. Lastly, remnant swell from Hurricane Milton
will continue to impact our beaches today. A HIGH risk of rip
currents remains in effect. A high surf advisory has also been
issued for Thursday as swell from Hurricane Milton reaches our
coast as waves of 4 to 6 feet are expected to reach our coastline.
BB/03

SHORT AND LONG TERM...
(Saturday through Wednesday)
Issued at 205 PM CDT Wed Oct 9 2024

Dry weather continues with the area under northwest flow aloft. A
cold front moves through the area Monday night into Tuesday. No
precip is expected along the front due to the dry atmosphere.
However, a shot of cool and dry air will follow in the wake of the
front. This will knock low temps down into the low to mid 40s
inland to mid 50s along the coast by Tuesday night. High temps on
Tuesday will be in the low to mid 70s inland to upper 70s along
the coast. Highs on Wednesday will be even cooler, in the upper
60s and low 70s. /13

MARINE...
Issued at 436 AM CDT Thu Oct 10 2024

Strong northeasterly winds will begin to relax today into
tonight. Seas will also gradually subside as we head into the
weekend. A small craft advisory is in effect through today. Offshore
winds will remain light throughout the weekend before the next front
arrives early next week. BB/03
