.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 201 PM EDT Mon Oct 7 2024

Dry and seasonably cool northwest flow will persist through Thursday
on the backside of a southeast Canada negative height anomaly. Air
mass will remain very dry in this regime resulting in large diurnal
temp swings and slight moderation of low level temperatures with
time.

The stable pattern aloft will deamplify Friday into the upcoming
weekend. This will allow an upper level shortwave of pacific origins
to track east-southeast through the northern Great Lakes and
Northeast during this time. An associated frontal boundary is
favored to drop through the area sometime Saturday night or Sunday,
though there remains considerable spread on exact timing at this
range. Warmer air will sneak in under rising heights Friday into
Saturday pre-frontal with highs well into the 70s and possibly low
80s. Overall moisture return into the frontal boundary once again
appears limited with only a token ~20% PoP retained.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z WEDNESDAY/...
Issued at 125 AM EDT Tue Oct 8 2024

With surface high pressure over Missouri, plenty of dry air
will be across the area. As a mid level trough departs,
shortwaves bringing cloud cover will be fewer and further
between allowing for VFR conditions, especially with unfavorable
cross-over temperatures into Tuesday AM. West winds with a
component veering from south to north through the period are
expected to gust up to 20 kts during peak heating this
afternoon, but will quickly drop off thereafter.
