.SHORT TERM /THROUGH MONDAY/...
Issued at 241 PM EDT Sun Aug 4 2024
Broad upper ridging will continue to spread east over the
Mississippi Valley, allowing for continued clear skies and dry
conditions. In the overnight hours, calm winds and clear skies will
lead to some fog development. Could see some patchy dense fog in
river valley areas, similar to the previous night. Low temperatures
are expected to be in the upper 60s and low 70s.
On Monday, fog will dissipate within a few hours of sunrise. The
remainder of the day will consist of diurnal Cu development in the
afternoon and slightly warmer than Sunday temperatures as
thicknesses begin to build over the region. High temperatures are
expected to reach the low-mid 90s. With dew points in the upper 60s
and low 70s, heat indices will be in the upper 90s and low 100s.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY/...
Issued at 241 PM EDT Sun Aug 4 2024
Dry week ahead with warm temperatures to start the long term period
on Tuesday with highs in the low to mid 90s (between 5 and 10
degrees above normal), which is right around the 50th percentile of
NBM data. With dew points in the low to mid 70s and light winds
under high pressure, heat indices could creep up in excess of 100 in
some spots. Individuals sensitive to heat, especially those without
cooling or hydration, could experience heat illness symptoms.
A dry cold front is expected to push through the region on Wednesday
and cool temperatures closer to normal in the upper 80s to near 90
for the rest of the week. While the current forecast is dry, we'll
continue to watch the progression of tropical cyclone Debby and to
where possible remnants may end up. Model consensus has the
tropical system moving up east of the Appalachians, but there's a
non zero chance for some Kentucky impact in some GEFS ensemble data.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z TUESDAY/...
Issued at 241 PM EDT Sun Aug 4 2024
With high pressure over the region, light winds, mostly dry
conditions, and scattered diurnal Cu will continue to prevail. As
the sunsets this evening, winds will become calm, skies will clear,
and fog will likely develop in the early morning hours similar to
the previous night.
