.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1201 AM EDT Fri Jul 26 2024

Quiet weather pattern continues with much more comfortable
conditions than several days ago thanks to a northwest flow
aloft ahead of ridging moving eastward into the area this
weekend. Highs today will get right around the 80 degree mark
for many locations. The incoming ridging will bring a slight
warming trend with highs in the mid to upper 80s Saturday and
Sunday. The Canadian wildfire smoke has and will make for pretty
sunrises and sunsets the next couple of days but will otherwise
not create any impacts near surface with the smoke being aloft.

By Sunday, further changes will commence with one being an
influx of moisture (dew points into the 70s into next week) and
chances of showers/storms will increase by Sunday afternoon due
to an approaching weak trough moving into the Great Lakes
region from the Plains. Monday highs will only get into the
lower 80s due to the disturbance but a more zonal flow on the
northern periphery of a broad ridge over the southern CONUS into
the upper Plains which will allow for periodic disturbances to
move through and warming conditions due to synoptic height
increases as a ridge axis moves across the region later next
week. By Wednesday and Thursday highs will approach the upper
80s and by the end of the week a few locations will see lower
90s. Along with the increased moisture next week conditions will
be muggy and uncomfortable.

.AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z FRIDAY/...
Issued at 715 PM EDT Thu Jul 25 2024

A large surface high will remain over the region with light
winds and limited cloud cover. Some daytime cumulus/stratocu
will continue to dissipate this evening, and then likely to
redevelop Friday near the base of a strong subsidence inversion
with some moisture trapped below with warm and dry air above. A
weak surface pressure gradient should help keep winds < 10 kts.
