SOUTHERN GREENE AND STONE COUNTIES THROUGH 245 PM CDT...
At 141 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles east of Maxie, or 9 miles northeast of Wiggins, moving east at
40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Wiggins, Lucedale, Leakesville, Perkinston, Beaumont, and McLain.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
