Quiet weather will continue today across central Indiana. High

Adjusted hourly forecasts to match current observational trends but
made no changes to the high temperature forecast.

.DISCUSSION (Today through Saturday)...
Issued at 345 AM EDT Sun Oct 25 2026
Dry and unseasonably mild to warm conditions will be the rule for
central Indiana this week as persistent ridging directs better
forcing to the west and north. High pressure will remain stacked
from the Midwest to the Mid-Atlantic through the early week...
continuing calm to very light winds that may occasionally drift out
of the south, maintaining low early-autumn type humidity with
dewpoints nearing 50F. Trend for greater cloud cover, albeit higher
decks as the southern edge of moisture conveyor from the Plains to
Great Lakes catches the area. Diurnal ranges to extend from 40s pre-
dawn to afternoons 70-75F.
Overcast conditions possible around the late Tuesday/early Wednesday
timeframe as small short wave lifts by the region..above a dry
column unable to produce any precipitation. Next air mass will then
transverse US-Canada border, holding chilly conditions to in New
England before its center also slides down to the Mid-Atlantic by
the end of the workweek. Noticeably stronger, yet reasonable
surface gradient will return more seasonable breeze for the second
half of the forecast period...with southerly gusts up to 10-15 mph
on Thursday and Friday combining with ample sun to boost readings
above 75 degrees, nearing daily records in the low 80s.
Rain showers are expected to finally reach central Indiana by next
weekend when progression of a couple short waves strengthen and pick
up adequate Gulf moisture while approaching IN from the southwest. A
confluent downstream upper flow should keep the waves from departing
Indiana too quickly...although any moderate or greater rainfall may
be delayed to later next week when better forcing is favored while
elevated precipitable water is still present.

.AVIATION (18Z TAF Issuance)...
Issued at 1254 PM EDT Sun Oct 25 2026
Impacts:
- Ground fog possible near 12Z Monday, MVFR and worse possible
Discussion:
Outside of any ground fog early Monday, VFR conditions are expected
through the period.
High clouds will move through at times through the period, with some
mid cloud around on Monday as well. Similar conditions to previous
nights will lead to patchy ground fog developing again. Thicker high
clouds might lower the odds, but for now will still put in a TEMPO
for MVFR at KLAF/KHUF around 12Z Monday. Cannot rule it out at KBMG
as well.
Winds will remain light. A shift to a more northerly direction will
occur at KLAF later Monday and at KIND Monday evening.
