Rest of This Afternoon through Saturday...
Quiet weather will continue this period. High pressure will be at
the surface. The few to scattered cumulus will dissipate early this
evening. Upper energy will bring some high clouds tonight through
Saturday.
There may be some patchy fog tonight depending on how thick the
cirrus becomes. Guidance looks a bit warm for low temperatures
again, so nudged them down a bit. Lows will be in the upper 50s to
lower 60s. Highs on Saturday will generally be in the lower to
middle 80s.
Saturday night through Sunday night...
An 850mb jet will aid in maintaining convection as it moves into the
Great Lakes region Saturday night. This convection will ride around
the upper high (the high will be to the southwest of central
Indiana). While some models like the NAM try to bring some of this
into parts of the area later Saturday night into Sunday, believe
that the ridge will win prevail across central Indiana and keep the
area dry. Will continue with a dry forecast.
Warmer air will start to move into the area as the ridge builds on
Sunday, with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s expected. Southwest
surface winds will bring in more humid air as well.
Monday and beyond...
The upper ridge will keep convection at bay at least through
Tuesday. It may weaken enough for isolated convection to pop up
Wednesday through Friday afternoons, but confidence remains low.
The main story will be heat with highs in the 90s each day. Low
temperatures mainly in the 70s won't provide much relief. Humid air
will provide heat indices near 100 degrees for at least Tuesday into
Thursday. These conditions will likely require a Heat Advisory due
to the length of the heat.

Impacts:
- MVFR fog possible overnight.
Discussion:
Relatively light to calm winds are expected overnight, with some
variability at times, though flow will generally be northeasterly
across the area.
Some lingering low level moisture along with the light winds may
produce some MVFR fog, though uncertainty is high. LAF is the only
site where guidance is indicating visibility restrictions, and will
carry a TEMPO group for MVFR fog there, but other sites cannot be
entirely ruled out. Any fog will mix out in typical diurnal fashion
after daybreak.
Winds will become more southeasterly to southerly during the day on
Saturday, but remain below 10KT. A few cumulus along with high cloud
cover can be expected.
