...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 AM EDT EARLY THIS
MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...The following counties, in southeast Indiana, Franklin and
Ripley.
* WHEN...Until 315 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 104 AM EDT, radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5
and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall
amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible.
- Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Batesville, Brookville, Osgood, Oldenburg, Lake Santee,
Blooming Grove, Metamora, Laurel, Holton, Napoleon,
Huntersville, Hamburg, Peppertown, Ballstown, Buena Vista,
Otter Village and Mounds State Recreation Area.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
To report flooding, go to our website at weather.gov/iln and submit
your report via social media, when you can do so safely.
