...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Indiana...
Wildcat Creek near Jerome.
.Radar estimates of 2 to 6 inches of rainfall within the past 24
hours is bringing flooding to much of central Indiana east of I-65.
Moderate flooding has developed along the Wildcat Creek near Jerome.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Wildcat Creek near Jerome.
* WHEN...Until early Friday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Significant flooding in progress along
this portion of Wildcat Creek. Only two floods since 1961...July
2003 and April 2013...crested above this level. Flood affects most
roads near Wildcat Creek and the canoe launch near SR 213.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:15 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 12.3 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 6:15 PM EDT Wednesday was 12.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.5
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage late tomorrow evening.
- Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
