for all area beaches.

between 100-107 degrees Thursday into the weekend.

The cold front that passed through the forecast area on Sunday has
moved off the coast as weak surface high pressure builds into the
region from the west. The boundary will then waver along the coast
as a sea-breeze pushes slightly inland by late this afternoon and
then south of the coast by Tuesday morning due to developing
land- breeze. Weak synoptic low-level flow continues through
Tuesday, but the sea-breeze should push as far north as Highway-84
by early Tuesday evening. A more established southerly flow will
occur on Wednesday along the westerly periphery of a high pressure
area setting up to our east. The upper trough currently
stretching from the eastern Great Lakes to the northern Gulf will
slowly push eastward with the axis exiting our area by the end of
the day. We still expect this trough to dissipate tonight with an
upper cutoff low being left behind centered over northern Georgia
that will slowly lift northward over the Tennessee Valley into
midweek.
A very dry airmass above 700 mb will continue to filter in from
the north-northwest resulting in mainly dry conditions today and
Tuesday. However, with moisture lingering below 700 mb through
midweek, isolated late afternoon and evening showers and a few
storms remain possible across our coastal areas due to low-level
forcing along the sea-breeze and across our eastern zones in
closer proximity to the upper low. Isolated to scattered showers
and thunderstorms will return Wednesday afternoon, mainly along
and east of I-65 as we return to a diurnal convective pattern.
High temperatures today in the upper 80s to lower 90s will warm
into the lower to middle 90s Tuesday through the remainder of the
week. Apparent temperatures (heat indices) will increase each day
as surface boundary moisture is pulled northward from the Gulf,
reaching between 100-107 degrees Thursday into the weekend, but
should remain below Heat Advisory criteria.
Beach Forecast: A Moderate Risk of Rip Currents through tonight
will become Low Tuesday through Thursday. /22

Calm or light and variable winds overnight become northwesterly
around 5 knots over interior areas on Monday, while closer to the
coast a southwesterly flow at 5-10 knots develops in the
