.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1236 AM CDT Thu Jul 23 2026

Tropical Storm Bertha continues to move westward and away from
the area. This will continue to take the main effects well away
from the area, however a moist southerly flow will continue with
isolated to scattered showers possible this afternoon. The highest
rain chances will be across northwest areas closer to the
influence of a weak upper trough. By the end of the week into the
weekend, the upper ridge to the west expands eastward and some
dryer air moves into the area. This will lead to lower rain
chances and warmer temps. This trend continue into next week with
isolated showers and storms possible each day. The main weather
story will be the return of high heat indices with high
temperatures increasing into the middle to upper 90s and apparent
temperatures climbing to between 100-107 over the weekend and
105-112 early in the work week.

A HIGH risk of rip currents continues through Thursday night
dropping to Moderate Friday through Sunday. /13
