* Until 445 PM CDT.
* At 308 PM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of
producing waterspouts was located along a line extending from 7 nm
southwest of Cat Island to 10 nm south of Ship Island to 33 nm
southeast of Chandeleur Sound, moving northeast at 25 knots.
HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage
vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.
Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves.
* Locations impacted include...
Cat Island, Biloxi, Mississippi Sound, Pascagoula, Long Beach, Horn
Island, Pass Christian, Ship Island, Gulf Park Estates, Ocean
Springs, Bay St. Louis, and Gulfport.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Strong winds will be dangerous for boaters or anyone near the water.
Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Seek shelter or move
to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or the National Weather
Service.
