.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 208 PM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025

Surface high pressure will continue to build into our region
behind the cold front that moved through last night. Upper level
ridging over the western  U.S. will slide over our region
during the weekend. This will give us dry and pleasant
conditions tonight through the weekend and into early next week.
Temperatures will be seasonable through Saturday, then we will
see a little bit of a warmup Sunday as the upper level ridge
moves overhead, with temperatures a few degrees above normal
Sunday through Tuesday.

By Tuesday into mid week, models show a tropical system moving
onto the southeast coast and weakening as it meanders over the
southeastern U.S. High pressure over our region should keep the
system off to our southeast and keep our forecast dry, but it
will be something to watch if the remnants of the tropical
system can push farther west. Some models show some light rain
in our area Thursday, but time will tell.
