.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 239 PM CDT Mon Aug 11 2025

Upper level ridging will become centered over the southeast U.S.
this week with broad troughing, now centered across the central
plains, moving eastward into the Great Lakes. High pressure at
the surface off the east coast will allow deeper moisture to
push in from the Gulf this week. Increasing moisture will work
with a weak front to produce scattered showers and storms across
the region Tuesday into Thursday. Highest chances will likely
be Tuesday into Wednesday when the boundary will be closer to
the region.

Upper level heights increase later this week and into the weekend
associated with a building ridge across the southern plains. Weak
impulses aloft will still present isolated chances of storms during
the period. Temperatures will remain in the lower 90s for much of the
week with lows generally in the lower 70s. Hotter temperatures
look to occur over the weekend associated with building heights
aloft with highs in the mid 90's. Increasing humidity will occur
through the week with heat indices in the upper 90s to near
100. Values closer to 105 degrees appear possible over the
weekend.
