...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southeast Kentucky, including the following
counties, Clay, Knox and Leslie.
* WHEN...Until 645 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 345 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Excessive runoff will cause minor flooding of
small creeks and streams, roads, and roadside culverts.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Brightshade, Ashers Fork, Plank, Spring Creek, Creekville,
Skidmore, Hammond, Haven, Fount, Green Road, Girdler and
Asher.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
