.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 225 AM EDT Tue May 6 2025

The upper low that has been lingering over the area was over
Ohio and drifting northeast. This system will spread one more
round of rain over northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio today
before lifting northeast out of the region. Areas of moderate
rain were occurring with this system, but flooding rains are
not expected. Rainfall amounts are likely to exceed 1 inch over
areas east of Interstate 69.

After today, a very prominent dry pattern is just ahead that
will persist into early next week. Mother's Day weekend will be
dry and warm with highs from 75 to near 80 as upper level
ridging dominates the upstream weather pattern. Clear skies
will prevail Friday through Sunday as atmospheric conditions
remain too dry to support any clouds with deep layer subsidence.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z WEDNESDAY/...
Issued at 1238 PM EDT Tue May 6 2025

Cutoff low continues to slowly slide east, allowing ceilings to rise and
eventually become SCT. A few wind gusts near 20kts expected this afternoon
during peak mixing before subsiding. Otherwise, high pressure builds through
the TAF period permitting VFR conditions and light wind. Wind overnight
near 5 kts may be enough to fend off any patchy fog prior to daybreak
Wednesday. An arriving cold front will bring a wind shift to the
northwest at KSBN just beyond this TAF period.
