.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 352 PM CDT Tue Apr 15 2025

Now Through Wednesday Night...

Latest water vapor imagery shows upper trough axis over southeast
CONUS is moving steadily eastward, and model data indicates that the
trough will be off the east coast by early Wednesday with ridging,
both surface and aloft, building over our local area through
Wednesday night. Surface front has moved south across the area this
morning and much drier and somewhat cooler air will be building into
the region tonight through Wednesday night. Daytime highs on
Wednesday will be in the low to mid 70s across the entire area (but
with much lower dewpoints and less humidity). Overnight lows both
tonight and Wednesday night will be in the 40s for all inland
locations and in the low to mid 50s closer to and along the coast.
DS/12

Thursday Through Tuesday...

For the first half of the period, an upper-level ridge building
over the southeast US, along with surface high pressure anchored
over the western Atlantic, will be in control of our local
weather. Subsidence from this deep- layer ridging in place will
keep rain out of the forecast through at least Saturday night, and
temperatures will continue to climb through late week and into
the weekend. Highs by Friday and into the weekend will top out in
the mid to upper 80s (upper 70s to low 80s along the coast), and
lows will only drop into the 60s. By Sunday, a southwesterly flow
pattern will be in place aloft as an upper trough digs into the
central US. The overall strength and timing of the trough is
rather uncertain this far out due to run-to-run discrepancies,
however, there is good agreement in guidance that rain chances
will be on the increase, especially as we get to the start of the
week. /96
