* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Northern Williamson County in southern Illinois...
Northeastern Jackson County in southern Illinois...
Franklin County in south central Illinois...
* Until 1030 PM CDT.
* At 954 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over De Soto, or
near Murphysboro, moving northeast at 60 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include...
West Frankfort, Buckner, Hanaford, Freeman Spur, Zeigler,
Thompsonville, Elkville, Bush, Cambria, Christopher, Herrin,
Orient, West City, North City, Benton, Hurst, Johnston City, Colp,
Royalton, and Macedonia.
This includes Interstate 57 in Illinois between Mile Markers 58 and
75.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for south central
and southern Illinois. A Tornado Watch also remains in effect until
400 AM CDT for south central Illinois.
