...The Flood Warning continues for the following waterways in
Indiana...
Sugar Creek at New Palestine and near Edinburgh.
East Fork White River at Columbus and Seymour.
Flatrock River near Columbus.
Muscatatuck River at Vernon.
Eel River at Bowling Green.
...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Indiana...
East Fork White River at Williams, near Bedford, near Rivervale,
and at Shoals.
.Excessive rainfall from repeated rounds of showers and
thunderstorms, which will continue well into the weekend, is
bringing up water levels on waterways across Indiana. Significant
and some major flooding is expected to develop along the East Fork
White River. The crest on the East Fork should be in the Columbus
and Seymour areas Sunday evening into Monday and points downstream
thereafter.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges,
dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream,
even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route
over higher ground.

and Wildlife Area in southern Johnson County. River Road north of
Old Hospital Road and CR 650S that run through the wildlife area
are not flooded...but many of the side roads from these roads are
flooded. Water extends to SR 252 along a small tributary to Sugar
Creek.

- At 11:00 PM EDT Friday the stage was 11.4 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 11:00 PM EDT Friday was 11.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.2

stage early Sunday morning.

* WHEN...Until late Wednesday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, The river floods two of SR 46's 4 lanes
just west of Columbus. Southern Crossing flooded at this level in
June 2008. At least 10 homes in the Walesboro area began to flood
or had water near their homes in December 2013. The river reading
at Seymour was around 18.8 feet. Southern Crossing was closed by
high water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:00 PM EDT Friday the stage was 8.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
just after midnight tonight to a crest of 15.1 feet Sunday
evening. It will then fall below flood stage late Wednesday
morning.

* IMPACTS...At 30.1 feet, During the March 2008 flood, SR 550
extensively flooded on the left bank of the river bridge. One
county road on the left bank is totally submerged and another near
the hill is barely visible. The south bound lane on the right bank
of the river is barely passable, but once over the bridge it ends
in deep, fast flowing flood water. There is no Hindostan Falls,
just a very big river. Water near SR 550 just before turn off to
the Falls. One farmer must boat into his house.
