The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a
* Special Marine Warning for...
North Mobile Bay...
* Until midnight CST.
* At 1103 PM CST, strong thunderstorms capable of producing
waterspouts were located along a line extending from 17 nm north of
Battleship Park to 8 nm northwest of Pinto Island to 9 nm north of
Grand Bay, moving east at 35 knots.
HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to nearly 50 knots.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
higher winds and suddenly higher waves.
* Locations impacted include...
Battleship Park, Pinto Island, and Mouth Of Mobile River.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 AM CST for southwestern
Alabama...and the adjacent coastal waters.
Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are
expected.
Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.
