High pressure will remain in control through the short term
period. A strong H5 ridge is current over the region and will
continue to move westward over the Texas Gulf Coast by tomorrow
morning. Our region will remain within the northeast periphery of
this upper high. At the surface, high pressure will still reside
across the southern Appalachians. The warming trend that has been
present the last few days will continue into the short term with
most locations warming into the lower to middle 80s today and
tomorrow. This is a few degrees above CLIMO, which ranges from the
upper 70s to lower 80s respectively for this time of year.
Otherwise, dry conditions through the short term and beyond.

Very benign weather pattern from early to midweek and likely
beyond. The dry northwest flow aloft should keep rain chances at
around 0 percent. We are still close enough to the upper high that
temperatures should be on the warm side. By mid to late week
heights fall a bit with an upper level impulse riding southeast
within the northwest flow. Still, moisture is so limited this
feature will likely not increase POPs unless something in that
department changes. With heights and thicknesses dropping a skosh
the warming trend will become more limited and in fact
temperatures on Friday or Saturday may be closer to climatological

Marine conditions remain hazardous today across most of the
coastal waters due to the interaction between a strong surface
high pressure centered to the north and lower pressures across
the western Caribbean and southern Gulf of Mexico with the remains of
Nadine. By later tonight and especially into Monday and Tuesday,
the pressure gradient is forecast to become more and more relaxed
as high pressure settles into the region allowing for winds and
seas to gradually improve. (Frye)
