.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 226 AM CDT Sat Sep 7 2024

Surface high pressure is building in from the north this
morning as a frontal boundary continues its progression
southeast of the area. Northerly winds continue to advect drier
air into the region. Surface ridging this weekend will bring dry
weather and much cooler temperatures. High temperatures will
top out in the mid to upper 70's, with lows dipping into the
40's. Relative humidity is expected to drop into the 20's
today through Tuesday which will bring heightened fire danger
although winds for the most part will be light. Winds today will
be around 10 mph or so and should relax as the center of the
high moves overhead the region Sunday into Tuesday.

Southerly return flow develops next week favoring a return to
more seasonable temperatures. Highs will be back into the upper
80's to near 90 degrees although humidity levels will still be
low. Little to no rain is expected this week with low end
chances toward the end of the week as a weak upper wave
traverses the region.
