High pressure over the Great Lakes promotes tranquil, dry, weather
through Thursday. Temperatures today are a few degrees shy of
normal, but a warming trend Wednesday and Thursday will swing the
pendulum the other way. A cold front arriving Thursday night and
Friday is our best chance for rain in the 7-day forecast. The
inherited forecast is thunder-free; reasonable given weak severe
weather parameters per forecast soundings. This will be punctuated
by lake effect rain showers Saturday. Current water temperatures
between 60F and 70F will be in stark contrast to 850-mb temperatures
of 35-40F degrees allowing ample lake-induced CAPE. Unseasonably
cool next weekend (highs in the 60s) followed by warming
temperatures thereafter.
