.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 243 PM CDT Tue Sep 3 2024

Surface high pressure is moving off toward the northeast this
afternoon. Skies are partly cloudy with mostly upper level
clouds in place. Aloft, a weak upper level wave will move
through the region this week with a trailing shortwave axis
coming off the northern Rockies. On Wednesday, a weak inverted
trough will extend across the Mississippi River in tandem with
the weak upper level wave. Model guidance keeps most of the
moisture to our south. As a result kept precip wording out of
the forecast for much of the area, although a few stray showers
are possible near the TN and AR state line. Temperatures will be
slowly rising this week, with highs back to near normal for
Wednesday through Friday.

A much deeper trough will dig into the Great Lakes and Ohio
Valley late Friday into Saturday. A frontal boundary associated
with this trough will push through the region and may bring
isolated showers/storms to the area. QPF remains limited with
this frontal passage. Cool Canadian high pressure filters in
behind the front over the weekend bringing a dry forecast with
low humidity. Temperatures drop off behind this front with highs
only in the mid 70's and lows dropping into the mid to upper
40's. Surface high pressure is slow to move out early next week
keeping dry conditions in place with a gradual rise in
temperatures.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z WEDNESDAY/...
Issued at 1207 PM CDT Tue Sep 3 2024

TAFs are VFR. Much of the period will be marked with upper level
cloud cover. Northeast winds around or less than 10 knots will
drop to light and variable tonight. Time-heights indicate some
low to mid level moisture moving into the terminals late
tonight. This may result in SCT-BKN 5-7kft.
