.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1104 AM CDT Sun Oct 11 2026

Dry conditions are expected through Saturday. Post-Tropical
Cyclone Isaias, currently located over Kentucky, lifts off to the
northeast and dissipates over West Virginia this evening. A ridge
of dry surface high pressure meanwhile builds into the forecast
area and gradually becomes oriented along the northern Gulf coast
by Thursday. A cold front approaches from the north late in the
week and is expected to move through the forecast area late Friday
into Friday night and ushers in cooler and drier air. Deep layer
moisture looks to remain too limited to support precipitation with
the frontal passage. Near record high temperatures are expected
Monday through Thursday with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s,
and possibly on Friday as well depending on how quickly the cold
front moves through. Lows tonight range from around 60 well inland
to the mid 60s at the coast then trend a bit warmer by Thursday
night to range from the lower 60s well inland to the upper
60s/around 70 near the coast. In the wake of the cold front, highs
on Saturday will be in the lower to mid 70s, and lows trend by
Saturday night to the upper 40s well inland ranging to the mid 50s
near the coast. A High Risk of rip currents continues through
this afternoon, then a moderate risk follows for tonight. A low
risk of rip currents is expected for Monday through Thursday. /29
