At 753 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Buck, or 10 miles northwest of Hindman, moving east at 55 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Pikeville, Hazard, Hindman, Estill, Bath, Coal Run Village, Elkhorn
City, Wheelwright, Martin, Pippa Passes, Wayland, Elic, Buck, Vail,
Handshoe, Carr Creek, Emmalena, Glo, Garden Village, and Nealy.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
