Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Wilmington OH
130 AM EDT Fri Sep 12 2025

.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure will continue into Saturday. A weak system will drop
across the area Saturday night. High pressure will return for much of
next week.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TODAY/...
Very dry airmass is in place with ridging at the surface and aloft.
Any diurnal cumulus will be quite limited. Gradual warming trend in
highs will continue.

&&

.SHORT TERM /TONIGHT THROUGH 6 PM SATURDAY/...
Mid level high will temporarily get suppressed as a short wave rides
over the top of it and slide through the western Great Lakes into the
region on Saturday. This will bring some mid to high clouds into the
region Saturday afternoon. Prior to that, the atmospheric column will
remain quite dry. Trend of a gradual increase in temperatures from
night to night and day to day will continue.

&&

.LONG TERM /SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY/...
Very stable, high amplitude mid level pattern will predominate. A
short wave will cross the area on Saturday night. While there is some
lift with this, moisture will be limited and low levels will remain
dry. So the chance of measurable rain is rather low and any amounts
that might occur will be quite light.

After the short wave passes, an initially narrow ridge extending from
Mexico into Canada will shift eastwards. This ridge will broaden over
time as it becomes positively tilted. Guidance is tightly clustered
with this evolution but then starts to show some spread heading into
mid week. At that point, a number of solutions develop a closed low
near the south Atlantic coast and then slowly start to retrograde
that underneath the high, although how quickly as well as
latitudinal position remains to be seen.

For the forecast area, this pattern is more warm and dry.

&&

.AVIATION /05Z FRIDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
VFR will prevail. There could be a few high based cumulus with
heating. Winds will be light northeast to east.

OUTLOOK...No significant weather expected.

&&
