JAY COUNTIES THROUGH 115 PM EDT...
At 1246 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 9 miles northwest of Coldwater to 7 miles south
of Portland. Movement was east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Portland, Westchester, Salamonia, College Corner, Boundary City,
Liber, Trinity, Collett, New Corydon, Bluff Point, Brice, and
Bellfountain.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and will
likely lead to localized flooding. The ground is saturated across
much of the central and southern parts of Jay County due to recent
heavy rainfall and additional heavy rainfall will lead to flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
