.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 208 AM CDT Tue Jul 1 2025
Any lingering showers or storms in southwest Indiana and west
Kentucky east of an Evansville to Hopkinsville line will come to
an end by 10am as a cold front pushes on through our region.
High pressure will build in from the northwest today into
tonight. North to northwest winds will result in lower dew
points and near to slightly below normal temperatures today
through Wednesday night. The center of the high will move east
of the PAH forecast area Thursday, and this will bring a return
of southerly winds for the end of the work week. This will give
our region a gradual warming trend and increasing dew points on
through the holiday weekend. Heat indices will be in the middle
to upper 90s for the 4th of July, with readings in the 98 to 103
degree range by Sunday and Monday.
Late in the weekend, models show a cold approaching from the
northwest, stretching from the central Great Lakes region into
southwest Missouri by 12z Sunday. This front will remain draped
across or just northwest of the PAH forecast area into early next
week. This will give us chances of showers and thunderstorms from
late Saturday night through Monday.
