...A FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.
* WHERE...The Flood Advisory is for a portion of western Owsley
County in Kentucky.
* WHEN...The Flood Advisory is in effect until 645 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas is
expected.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 441 PM EDT, Weather radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have
fallen in an hour.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Travellers Rest, Sturgeon and Endee.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
