.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 337 AM CDT Fri Apr 25 2025

Today through Saturday night...

First half of the period continues to be a rinse and repeat of
the last few days with some patchy dense fog during the morning
and then scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon.
Overall ridging will be place across the western Atlantic with
several shortwave troughs progressing across the Great Lakes. A
subtle boundary will slowly waffle across the deep south over the
next couple of days with each passing wave. Storms during the
afternoon will be focused closer to this boundary which will
mainly be along the highway 84 corridor and north Friday and
Saturday. Coverage appears to be best on Friday with slightly less
coverage on Saturday with some shortwave ridging inhibiting more
widespread rain chances. Fog will continue to be the main issue
the next 48 hours as rather stable conditions overnight with clear
skies will yield solid radiational cooling. Patchy fog will be
possible each night across most of the area with some dense fog
possible. Friday night into Saturday looks to be more widespread
with the dense fog as the shortwave ridging moves over.
Nonetheless, a dense fog advisory has been issued tonight for
interior portions of the northwestern Florida Panhandle and
interior south central Alabama. Given current guidance, we could
probably expect another dense fog advisory tomorrow night for a
larger portion of the area. BB-8

Sunday through Thursday...

An upper level ridge will expand northward from the western Gulf
into the southeast states early next week. This will keep most
areas dry with warming temps as upper heights increase. High
temps will be in the mid and upper 80s with a few areas near 90.
Lows will be in the low to mid 60s inland to mid and upper 60s
near the coast. /13
