.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 429 AM CDT Thu Apr 24 2025

Now through Friday night...

Weak westerly to west-northwesterly flow aloft will continue to
prevail across the forecast area. Today and tomorrow will be a rinse
and repeat of the past couple days with isolated to scattered
showers and thunderstorms primarily during the peak heating hours
each afternoon, waning into the early evening. Best coverage will
primarily be over interior areas of southeastern Mississippi into
interior southwestern and south- central Alabama. Areas nearer the
coast may generously see isolated coverage of showers and storms
today and tomorrow. Temperatures remain warm with highs in the
middle to upper 80's, warmest on Friday. Lows remain in the lower to
middle 60's tonight and Friday night.

Patchy to areas of fog, locally dense, will continue to be possible
through daybreak this morning. A better setup for fog appears
possible tonight into Friday morning and Friday night into Saturday
morning with better coverage of dense fog possible based on latest
forecast guidance. Dense fog advisories may become necessary in
future forecast updates for tonight and perhaps Friday night if
confidence on the occurrence of dense fog increases. A Low risk of
rip currents will persist through tonight, becoming a Moderate risk
on Friday into Friday night. MM/25

Saturday through Wednesday...

Isolated to scattered PoPs will be possible, mainly over northern
portions of the forecast area on Saturday and Sunday. An upper
level ridge will expand northward from the western Gulf into the
southeast states early next week. This will keep most areas dry
with warming temps as upper heights increase. Highs temps will be
in the mid and upper 80s with a few areas near 90. Lows will be in
the low to mid 60s inland to mid and upper 60s near the coast.

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1226 AM CDT Thu Apr 24 2025

VFR ceilings and visibility generally prevail across the forecast
area currently. Anticipate MVFR to locally IFR to LIFR ceilings
and/or visibility to become possible as patchy to areas of fog
become develops through daybreak this morning. Any lingering fog
quickly lifts after daybreak allowing for VFR flight category to
prevail once again. A few showers and thunderstorms are possible
during the afternoon into early evening hours once again which
could result in gusty winds and temporary flight category
reductions. Patchy to areas of fog, locally dense, become possible
once again tonight into Friday morning reducing ceiling and/or
visibility once again. Light and variable winds through daybreak
become generally southeasterly to southerly at 5 to 10 knots by
late morning into the early afternoon hours. MM/25
