.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 222 PM EDT Mon Apr 14 2025
Visible satellite imagery shows a large area of low pressure
centered over Lake Superior, with the system's attendant cold front
draped to the east of our forecast area in Ohio. This cold front
moved through our area earlier today, and with very limited moisture
to work with, our area stayed dry. While clouds will still be
around this afternoon and west winds will be gusting up to 30
mph, it will continue to be dry the rest of the day. This cold
front sets the stage for cooler air to move in this evening.
Overnight, lows will drop into the upper 30s to low 40s under
partly to mostly cloudy skies.
Tuesday will be much cooler than today with scattered light rain
showers, cool temperatures, and wind gusts up to 35-40 mph! High
will be in the upper 40s thanks to strong CAA with the tightening
pressure gradient on the backside of the low. Northwest winds will
gust up to 35-40 mph on Tuesday, especially in the morning and early
afternoon. Scattered lake effect rain/snow showers will be possible
with deep cyclonic flow throughout the morning as a trough pivots
through.
The next chances for rain and storms arrives late Thursday into
Friday, with potential for severe weather. As a warm front moves
through and WAA strengthens, highs will soar into the mid 70s to
possibly near 80 in some locations on Friday. The Storm Prediction
Center has added a 15% severe risk across our entire forecast area,
as a cold front will sweep across the area sometime Friday evening
into early Saturday morning. Uncertainty remains on exact timing and
hazards. Stay tuned for updates!
As of now, Easter Weekend looks to be mainly dry with seasonable
highs in the 60s.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z WEDNESDAY/...
Issued at 108 AM EDT Tue Apr 15 2025
An upper-level low is seen swirling on water vapor north of
Lake Huron. The parent trough is digging in over Wisconsin and
will sweep through Indiana near/after daybreak. Snow is ongoing
in the vicinity of this trough, while our thermal profiles will
primarily favor rain. The precipitation duration appears brief
as this trough breezes through. Wind gusts will need to be
monitored closely going into the afternoon with gusts of 40 mph
possible. Wind diminishes after sunset Tuesday with ceilings
gradually clearing, save for KSBN where lake influence lingers.
