.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 257 PM CDT Thu Apr 10 2025

A large upper trof over the eastern states amplifies through
Friday before moving off into the western Atlantic this weekend.
An associated surface low brings a cold front through the forecast
area overnight and will result in isolated to scattered showers
and storms over interior areas. Model soundings show that
convection most likely remains elevated, but with mid level lapse
rates approaching 7C/km and mid level dry air, some small hail
and/or gusty winds will be possible, but overall the potential for
severe storms looks low. Dry conditions follow for Friday and
continue all the way through Thursday of next week, as while
another cold front looks set to move through on Tuesday, deep
layer moisture will be too limited to support precipitation. Lows
tonight range from the lower 50s inland to near 60 at the coast,
then Friday night will be cooler with lows ranging from the mid
40s inland to around 50 at the coast. Highs on Friday will be
mostly in the lower to mid 70s, then Saturday continues to be the
coolest day with highs mostly ranging from the upper 60s to lower
70s. A low risk of rip currents is expected through Monday. /29

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 639 PM CDT Thu Apr 10 2025

A cold front approaching from the north moves through the area
overnight with light southwesterly winds switching to the
northwest. Isolated to scattered showers and storms with MVFR
conditions are possible over interior areas tonight, and IFR to
MVFR conditions are also possible with patchy late night fog
mainly over portions of south central Alabama and the interior
northwest Florida panhandle. /22

.MARINE...
Issued at 257 PM CDT Thu Apr 10 2025

A light to moderate southwesterly flow develops through early
this evening then switches to a moderate to occasionally strong
northwest flow overnight as a cold front moves through. Small
craft should exercise caution tonight for the 20-60 nm portion. A
Small Craft Advisory is in effect from 5 pm Friday until 6 am
Saturday for the 20-60 nm portion, and from 5 pm Friday until 1 am
Saturday for the near shore waters. The offshore flow subsides on
Saturday with a light southerly flow becoming established on
Sunday. /29
