- Lows below the freezing mark expected again tonight, and once
again Friday night.
- Next period of widespread precip expected Wednesday/Wednesday
night. Precipitation may mix with some snow Wednesday but no
accumulation is expected.

Unseasonably cold sfc ridge across the area today will give way to
incoming sharpening/deepening nrn stream dropping out of srn Canada.
Decent return flow ahead of this sys will spurn and expanding area
of rainfall Wed morning but will delay ewd overspread a bit from
prior. Otherwise upper trough wraps up through the ern OH valley Fri-
Sat which will again dump another chilly airmass across the area.
Thereafter short amplitude ridging alot builds in Sun-Mon with a
quick rebound in temps ahead of nrn stream sys wrapping up
south of Hudson Bay toward midweek. Suspect this will at least
temporarily drive another backdoor cold front through the area
late period or just beyond.

VFR conditions through the critical TAF period give way to increasing
clouds, rain, and decreasing ceilings. Low pressure is taking shape
over the Central Plains and will track east today. Very dry air is
in place currently, thanks to high pressure centered overhead. This
leads me to hedge on the late-side of guidance with respect to
onset of rainfall. Favorable dynamics via a deepening trough
and subsequent strengthening of the jet stream increases
confidence in a period of steady rain and IFR ceilings. The in-
house blend indicates about a 50% chance of IFR ceilings at both
sites. There may be a brief dry period after 03z Thursday as a
narrow dry slot moves overhead; something to monitor for later
updates.
