Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Wilmington OH
939 AM EST Sat Mar 8 2025

.SYNOPSIS...
Clouds will give way to increasing sunshine this afternoon, as
low pressure tracks east of the area. High pressure will build
across the region tonight with dry conditions and warmer
temperatures arriving through early next week.

&&

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
Satellite imagery showing clouds decreasing across the region
and that will continue.  Forecast highs look reasonable.

&&

.SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH 6 PM SUNDAY/...
Split mid/upper level flow with southern stream system remaining
south of the area passing thru the Southern Plains and Gulf
States overnight into Sunday. The Ohio Valley will remain under
the influence of the northern stream with high pressure building
across the area overnight. This evening looks to be mostly clear
with some mid and high level clouds mainly affecting our
southern counties associated with the southern stream system.
Lows tonight mainly in the upper 20s with readings around 30 in
urban locations.

The center of surface high pressure slides to the east with a
southwest to west surface flow. Some high level clouds across
the south but otherwise expect abundant sunshine. High temperatures
to range from near 50 north to the upper 50s south.

&&

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Quiet conditions are expected for much of the long term along with
above normal temperatures.  Late Wednesday night through Thursday
night there is a slight chance for some showers across primarily
western and southern portions of the region in eastern Indiana and
northern Kentucky.  There are better signals for more widespread and
heavier precipitation late in the week, starting Friday night.  Off
and on breezy conditions can be expected in the long term time
period as the pattern becomes more amplified.

&&

.AVIATION /15Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
MVFR ceilings will scatter out before 18Z with VFR conditions
this afternoon into tonight. Some marginal LLWS may impact the
northern TAf sites overnight as 40-45KT low level jet pivots
thru the southern Great Lakes.

North-northwest winds of 10-12 knots to diminish to less than
10 kts and back west this evening and then southwest overnight.

OUTLOOK...No significant weather expected.
