Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Wilmington OH
936 PM EST Sat Mar 1 2025

.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure will settle into the region through Sunday,
keeping temperatures well below normal. Warmer temperatures and
precipitation will return through mid week ahead of an
approaching low pressure system.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH SUNDAY/...
As mean mid level trof axis shifts east northwest flow will
develop across ILN/s area. Cyclonic low level flow and
lingering low level moisture resulted in stratocumulus and
scattered flurries this aftn. A few residual flurries will
remain possible thru about midnight especially across West
Central Ohio with flow off Lake Michigan.

As high pressure builds into the region overnight clouds will
continue to scatter out with clearing taking place. Along with
the decrease in clouds winds will continue to diminish.

Lows tonight will drop to chilly readings in the mid and upper
teens.

&&

.SHORT TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT/...
The surface high will settle into our area through the day on
Sunday. This will lead to mostly sunny skies. However, with a
cold air mass in place, temperatures will remain well below
normal with highs only in the mid to upper 30s. Mostly clear
skies are expected Sunday night with lows in the mid teens to
lower 20s.

&&

.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/...
An active long term period is expected.  A storm system will impact
the region Tuesday through Thursday.  Rain showers will start to
move into the region on Tuesday with widespread rain expected
Tuesday night through Wednesday.  As colder air moves into the
region Wednesday night, rain will transition over to snow.  Snow
showers will linger through the day on Thursday.  Breezy conditions
are expected through this time with wind gusts upwards of 40 to 45
mph possible Wednesday into Wednesday night.

Dry conditions are expected Thursday night into Friday morning.
There is more model variability with the late week system and
therefore limited precipitation chances to the chance category. Have
a mix of rain and snow with this system.

&&

.AVIATION /02Z SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...
Deep mean mid level trof over the Eastern CONUS. ILN/s FA is a
northwest flow with the trof axis east of the area. Cyclonic low
level flow and lingering low level moisture has resulted in
VFR stratocumulus and scattered flurries and snow showers this
aftn. As high pressure builds into the region tonight clouds
will scatter out with clearing taking place. Along with the
decrease in clouds winds will also diminish. VFR conditions
to prevail thru the remainder of the TAF forecast period with
only thin high level clouds on Sunday.

OUTLOOK...MVFR ceilings and visibilities likely Tuesday into
Thursday. Wind gusts in excess of 30 knots possible Tuesday
night into Wednesday night.
