...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 AM CST EARLY THIS MORNING...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused from earlier excessive rainfall will remain
  possible.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Louisiana, including the following
  parishes, Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard and St.
  Charles.

* WHEN...Until 415 AM CST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 231 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Generally light to occasionally moderate rain can be expected
    through early this morning, with no additional risk of flash
    flooding expected. However, continue to remain cautious if
    traveling this morning and avoid flooded roadways.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    New Orleans, Metairie, Avondale, Marrero, Harvey, Hahnville,
    Timberlane, Belle Chasse, Chalmette, Jefferson, Gretna,
    Harahan, Westwego, River Ridge, Waggaman, Elmwood, Bridge
    City, Ama, St. Rose and Luling.
  - This includes the following Interstates...
    Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 215 and 245.
    Interstate 610 between mile markers 1 and 4.
    Interstate 310 between mile markers 1 and 10.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
