NEAR TERM...
(Now through Saturday)
Issued at 406 AM CST Fri Jan 24 2025

The thaw continues as temperatures gradually continue to
increase into the weekend. Despite a shortwave moving across the
area today, our pattern will be predominantly driven by zonal flow a
loft through Saturday night. This will keep us sunny and dry through
the period with limited moisture. Temperatures appear to be the only
show in town as they gradually climb each day. Lows will likely
remain in the 20s each night which will likely require at least one
more cold weather advisory Friday night. Highs today will climb into
the upper 40s to low 50s and then low to mid 50s on Saturday. This
will continue to aid in melting off what remaining snow is on the
ground. Unfortunately, roadways that remain shaded throughout the
day will continue to have black ice issues at least through today.
However, with warming temps the threat for black ice will quickly be
subsiding into the weekend. BB-8

LONG TERM...
(Sunday through Thursday)
Issued at 406 AM CST Fri Jan 24 2025

Rain chances return to the forecast Sunday into Sunday night as a
cold front moves into the area and stalls. The front will linger
across the area until Tuesday into Wednesday when it will return
northward as a warm front ahead of another approaching system.
This will maintain small rain chances Tuesday and Wednesday.
Temperatures will continue to moderate through the period with
highs on Sunday in the upper 50s and low 60s warming into the
low/mid 60s by Wednesday. /13

MARINE...
Issued at 406 AM CST Fri Jan 24 2025

Light northerly flow will persist through today. A light
easterly to southeasterly flow will develop over the weekend in
advance of our next system before turning northerly briefly Monday
night. Easterly to southeasterly flow will return by midweek and
persist through next week. BB-8
