.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 125 PM CST Wed Dec 18 2024

High pressure will continue to build into the area through
tonight. Cloud cover will be the main forecast challenge.
Clearing has been much more efficient than what the NBM could
come up with. There is a considerable area of cloud cover from
central IL into central MO moving south. Doesn't appear to be
much of a diurnal decrease in coverage, so we may have to
contend with some clouds overnight, especially from southern IL
into southwest IN and northwest KY.

Quiet weather Thursday with high pressure in control. Friday, a
fast moving system will cut across the Great Lakes and Ohio
Valley region. The western extent of more substantial low level
moisture will clip our Evansville Tri-State counties and could
result in some flurries. Better chances will stay off to the
east. High pressure and dry weather return for the weekend.
Temperatures will be below normal through the weekend.

A period of unsettled weather is expected starting next Monday.
Temperatures will be milder, with a chance of rain through at
least the middle part of next week. The NBM is likely exhibiting
a normal tendency of having rain chances in for too many
periods given the range of model solutions. We will attempt to
fine tune and identify the most likely periods for rain in the
coming days.

.AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z THURSDAY/...
Issued at 512 PM CST Wed Dec 18 2024

MVFR cigs are moving in from the north and are already affecting
MVN, EVV, and OWB. According to model soundings these cigs look
to hang around through tomorrow, but will go more scattered
later in the day. Winds will be fairly light through the whole
period.
