.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1223 PM CST Thu Nov 7 2024

The week finishes out dry/cool as high pressure gains in
prominence and sensible weather influence in the wake of a
recent cold front's passage. Expect light shower chances in our
southeast to continue to dwindle and disappear as the drier air
takes over. Dew points respond with a precipitous drop
into/thru the 40s, already ongoing in the FA.

More rain is coming this weekend as a developing system rolls
out of the Plains and lifts into the Upper Midwest. Return
warmth/moisture will push dew points back to around 60F by
Saturday night, as categorical pops move west to east with the
front across the area. Columnar PW's upwards to a chart topping
1.75 inches supports an efficient 1-2" swath of storm total
rainfall, most likely along and south of the Ohio River, with
lesser amounts to about a half inch in our farthest northwest
reaches.

A return to drier/seasonal air to begin the new work week
ensues, followed by another potentially active (rain chance) period
making its stage appearance by the mid week time frame.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z SATURDAY/...
Issued at 1031 PM CST Thu Nov 7 2024

Ongoing low stratus across parts of southern and southwest KY
will continue to push southward as northerly winds advect drier
air into the region. High cirrus clouds will gradually increase
in coverage overnight and through most of the day Friday. Winds
will be generally light from the N to NE around 5-10 kts.
