Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Wilmington OH
800 PM EDT Thu Oct 31 2024

.SYNOPSIS...
In the wake of a cold front passing through overnight, sky cover
will clear and temperatures will return to near or just above
normal through the weekend. Temperatures will rise next week as
a warm front passes to the northeast on Sunday, along with a
chance of rain. The next cold front should cross late Tuesday
and mark a cooling after the next round of rain associated with
the front.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Rain will end from west-east tonight in favor of dry conditions
and mostly sunny skies on Friday. The last of any rainfall
associated with a fine line should be east of the I-71 corridor
by midnight, exiting southeastern CWA by 2 AM.

Lows tonight will drop to the lower 40s northwest of I-71 and
upper 40s to around 50 in the southeast. Cincy and Columbus
metro areas will be slightly warmer in the mid 40s.

&&

.SHORT TERM /FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH 6 PM FRIDAY/...
High pressure northwest of the CWA will move east, laying out
over MI Friday night. North winds during the day will advect
more normal temperatures, though mid 50s in the northwest to
lower 60s in the southeast will definitely feel like quite a
cool down.

Clear skies will abound, and the high will extend further south
into Ohio overnight Friday. Lighter northeast wind around 5 mph
with the clear sky cover will combine to see overnight lows drop
to the mid 30s.

&&

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY/...
For the period Saturday into Saturday night, high pressure across
the Great Lakes will move east into southeast Canada/New England.
Mostly sunny skies on Saturday will give way to increasing clouds
from the west Saturday night. After highs in the lower to mid 60s,
lows will range from the upper 30s northeast to the mid 40s south
and southwest.

Strong mid level ridging will once again occur over the southeast
U.S., and will extend northward into the Ohio Valley during the
beginning of the new week. As this occurs, a warm front will push
northeast through the region Sunday into Sunday night, bringing
clouds and the threat for showers. The highest chance will be over
our northwest zones. This will be the start of a warmer and more
humid air mass. Highs in the mid 60s to the lower 70s on Sunday will
only fall into the 50s for Sunday night.  Our region will remain on
the periphery of the strong mid level ridge for Monday into the
first part of Tuesday. Some embedded disturbances may ripple through
this periphery with the chance of showers staying in the forecast,
but mostly for our northwest region. It will be unseasonably warm
with near record or record highs possible Monday and Tuesday. Highs
in the 70s both days with lows remaining very warm in the 50s to
lower 60s.

By Tuesday night into Wednesday, the strong mid level ridge shifts
east and flattens as mid level energy moves into the Great Lakes.
This will bring a cold front east into our region, along with better
chances for showers. It will trend cooler. Lows in the upper 40s
northwest to the upper 50s southeast will rise into the 60s.

Drier weather is expected by Wednesday night into Thursday as high
pressure returns. Lows in the 30s and 40s will rise into the 50s and
lower 60s on Thursday (more closer to climate normals).

&&

.AVIATION /00Z FRIDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
Off and on rain showers and wind gusts will continue through the
first half of the night. A cold front will move through
overnight and precipitation will come to an end. There will be a
period overnight where MVFR cigs will be possible before
starting to decrease in coverage. CAA cu will be possible for
Friday.

OUTLOOK...Wind gusts possible Monday and Tuesday.
