NEAR TERM...
(Now through Monday night)
Issued at 354 PM CDT Sun Oct 20 2024

Upper ridging and surface high pressure continue to remain in
place through Monday night. Similar to the past couple days, we
will see warm highs but chilly overnight lows owing to the dry
airmass, light winds, and mostly clear skies in place over the
region. Highs have topped out today in the upper 70's to lower
80's, with highs expected to be a degree or two warmer for Monday
in the lower 80's for most locations. Tonight is another chilly
night dipping into the lower to middle 40's over the interior and
upper 40's to lower 50's nearer the coast. Expect similar temps
tomorrow night, perhaps a degree or two warmer than the night
before across the forecast area. A High risk of rip currents
continues through the rest of this afternoon before dropping to a
Moderate risk tonight, and a Low risk by Monday night. MM/25

SHORT AND LONG TERM...
(Tuesday through Sunday)
Issued at 354 PM CDT Sun Oct 20 2024

Weak ridging aloft will extend across the north central Gulf Coast
region through much of the upcoming week while surface high
pressure remains anchored over much of the eastern U.S. Dry
weather conditions will persist over our forecast area through the
next several days. Highs will warm into the mid to upper 80s
toward the middle to latter part of the week. Overnight lows will
remain cool in the lower to mid 50s over interior locations and in
the upper 50s to lower 60s near the immediate coast. /21

MARINE...
Issued at 354 PM CDT Sun Oct 20 2024

Small craft should exercise caution well offshore through tonight.
A light to moderate northeasterly to easterly flow will persist into
Tuesday, and then become variable less than 10 knots through
Thursday. Seas will gradually subside into midweek. /22
