.New NEAR TERM, SHORT TERM, LONG TERM, MARINE...

NEAR TERM...
(Now through Sunday Night)
Issued at 124 PM CDT Sat Oct 19 2024

Dry weather conditions continue to dominate the forecast during
the near term period. The mostly clear skies and dry air mass in
place has allowed for the region to warm into the middle to upper
70's, with a few spots potentially touching 80 degrees by mid
afternoon. With the aforementioned dry air in place, light winds,
and mostly clear skies tonight and tomorrow night we will see
efficient radiational cooling once again. Expect lows to dip into
the lower to middle 40's inland and upper 40's and lower 50's
nearer the coast both nights. Highs tomorrow will be a tad warmer,
topping out in the upper 70's over the interior and lower 80's
across southeastern Mississippi into coastal sections of Alabama
and the Florida Panhandle. A High risk of rip currents remains in
effect through Sunday afternoon. MM/25

SHORT AND LONG TERM...
(Monday through Saturday)
Issued at 124 PM CDT Sat Oct 19 2024

Upper ridging over the region to start the week transitions to
zonal or northwest flow through the rest of the week. Despite the
change in the upper pattern, there will be very little change at
the surface and our sensible weather. Surface high pressure to
our north and northeast will persist and ridge into our region.
This will maintain very dry conditions with no prospects of rain.
High temperatures will moderate to above normal levels in the
80s. Low temperatures for early week will be near or slightly
below normal, moderating to near to slightly above normal by the
end of the week. 34/JFB

MARINE...
Issued at 124 PM CDT Sat Oct 19 2024

A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for the 20 to 60 NM gulf
waters adjacent from Pensacola FL to Pascagoula MS until midnight
when seas subside. A moderate northeasterly to easterly flow will
persist through the weekend. Winds subside to a light to moderate
easterly to northeasterly flow by Monday, which will linger through
midweek. MM/25
