.NEAR TERM...
(Now through Monday)
Issued at 442 AM CDT Sun Oct 13 2024

A weak upper level shortwave trough moves through a mean upper
trough over the eastern Conus today through tonight. A cold front
moves south over the Southeast tonight through Monday in response,
eventually stalling near I-10 by Tuesday morning. With a dry airmass
over the Southeast ahead of the front, passage is expected to be a
dry one.

Temperatures remain above seasonal norms through the Near Term,
though the cold front brings a drop closer to near seasonal norms
Monday night. High temperatures in the mid to upper 80s today is
expected to drop into the lower 80s well north of Highway 84 Monday.
Low temperatures in the low to mid 60s tonight (with some local
drops in the 50s) drop, ranging from the low 50s north of Highway 84
to low 60s south of I-10 to the coast Monday night.

With generally light winds over the Gulf through the weekend, then
westerly and offshore flow in the coming week, the risk of rip
currents remains low into the middle of the coming week.
