...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...A portion of southeast Louisiana, including the following
parishes, Jefferson, Orleans, St. Charles and St. John The Baptist.
* WHEN...Until 430 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 309 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the
area continues. Minor flooding could be possible in some
locations within the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of around 0.5 inches can be
expected over the area. This additional rain could continue
to produce areas of minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
New Orleans, Hahnville, Avondale, Metairie, Laplace, Marrero,
Reserve, Jefferson, Harahan, Westwego, St. Rose, Ama,
Destrehan, Luling, New Sarpy, Boutte, Waggaman, Norco, River
Ridge and Taft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
