.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Sunday)
Issued at 300 AM CDT Sat Sep 28 2024
Upper low/Post Tropical Cyclone Helene was over Kentucky early
this morning, with ridging over the Rockies, and near Bermuda.
Mid-level clouds associated with the low were just to the north
of the local area. Temperatures at 3 AM CDT generally ranged from
the mid 60s to the mid 70s, with dew points in the 60s.
There is really nothing in the short term to force the upper low
away from where it is currently residing. Most of the area should
see abundant sunshine today and tomorrow, but northern portions of
the area could see periods of cloud cover with cloud bases around
4-5k feet. We shouldn't see a great deal of temperature change
between today and Sunday, with highs mid 80s to around 90. West to
northwest winds should keep humidity levels rather comfortable for
outdoor activities. Overnight lows in the 60s will be welcome as
well.

.LONG TERM...
(Sunday night through Friday)
Issued at 300 AM CDT Sat Sep 28 2024
A northern stream shortwave will eventually open up the low to our
north and shear it out by mid-week. Ridging is expected to develop
over the Appalachians for the end of next week, with unsettled
weather over the Bay of Campeche or the southern Gulf of Mexico.
Not a lot of agreement between medium range solutions beyond about
Wednesday. We'll ride with the NBM deterministic numbers for now,
which will spread at least a low end chance of precipitation into
the area for the end of next week. Expect temperatures to remain
on the warm side of normal through the end of next week.

.MARINE...
Issued at 300 AM CDT Sat Sep 28 2024

knots or less, and will remove the Small Craft Exercise Caution
headlines from the eastern waters. Expect winds to remain near or
below 15 knots through at least Tuesday.
