AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
National Weather Service Wilmington OH
650 AM EDT Sat Sep 28 2024

.SYNOPSIS...
A large area of low pressure will slowly track east and weaken
into early next week keeping unsettled conditions across the
region. Drier weather will eventually return towards midweek.

&&

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
Vertically stacked low pressure over western Kentucky will move
very little through the day. Energy rotating around this low has
brought showers into the southern part of the forecast area
already. These showers will slowly spread north today. Could be
another half to three quarters of an inch of rain across
southern counties with lower amounts further north. But not
expecting any convective activity that might cause any locally
heavier rainfall. Temperatures will not be changing much and may
even remain fairly steady where rain commences before daybreak.

&&

.SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH 6 PM SUNDAY/...
Low pressure will meander eastward across Kentucky during the
period, slowly weakening as it does. This will keep periods of
showers occurring across the region with additional rainfall
amounts generally on the light side. It will remain rather
dreary with lows in the lower to mid 60s and highs in the lower
70s.

&&

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
The tropical remnants will continue to bring precipitation chances
to the region at the start of the long term.  This feature will
start to move towards the east Monday night leaving the region in-
between features.  There is a strong signal for fog or stratus and
fog formation Monday night into Tuesday morning.  Due to this have
patchy fog mention in across the region and patchy dense fog across
the western half of the area.  The strongest signal for fog is
across north central to northwestern portions of the region.  May
see some drizzle in there as well.

A couple weak systems will then allow for some rainfall chances at
times Tuesday into Wednesday morning.  After this time, dry
conditions are expected until Friday night when another system works
into the region from the north.

High temperatures will be in the 70s for Monday and Tuesday with low
temperatures Sunday night and Monday night in the lower 60s. Cooler
air will work in Tuesday night with lows in the 40s and 50s.  With
CAA on Wednesday expect cu development and high temperatures only in
the middle 60s to around 70.  With light winds and skies clearing
Wednesday night, the coolest temperatures are expected with lows in
the lower to middle 40s.  Temperatures will start to warm a little
later in the week with highs in the 70s and 80s for Friday and
Saturday.

&&

.AVIATION /10Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
Showers will gradually spread north through the day. This will
moisten low levels, causing ceilings to fall through MVFR and
eventually to IFR. East winds will back slightly to northeast
late in the period.

OUTLOOK....MVFR to IFR ceilings and visibilities likely Saturday
night into Tuesday night.
