...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of western Kentucky, including the following 
  counties, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves and Hickman.

* WHEN...Until 1100 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 648 PM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in
    the advisory area due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
    already occurring. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have
    fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Murray, Mayfield, Fulton, Hickman, Clinton, Sedalia,
    Lynnville, Fulgham, Cayce, Wingo, Hazel, Arlington, Water
    Valley, Columbus, Harris Grove, Kirksey, New Concord and
    Boundurant.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
